The booking process in the Cangooroo engine is structured into three fundamental steps:
Search: Initial query for availability and rates with suppliers.
Pre-Booking (Get Booking Conditions): Screen where final conditions such as price, cancellation policy, availability, etc., are validated.
Confirmation (Booking): Execution and finalization of the booking.
Business Rule Mapping
During this flow, a discrepancy in the cancellation policy provided by the supplier between Steps 1 and 2 may occur.
Trigger Scenario:
Step 1 (Search): The supplier returns that the rooms are not in a penalty period.
Step 2 (Pre-Booking): The supplier updates the information and returns the value PenaltyRestriction in the RestrictionType field.
Supplier Settings in Cangooroo: The following locks are enabled:
"Disable booking of multiple identical rooms under penalty"
"Disable booking of multiple different rooms under penalty"
Behavior and Impact on Booking
When this combination of factors occurs, the Cangooroo platform will not confirm the booking immediately.
The booking is automatically converted to On Request status. This mechanism prevents automatic confirmation of rates with unexpected cancellation fees not identified during search, allowing manual analysis before honoring the reservation.
